Part-Time Positions Available:

- Pelican Park Facility Staff, Starting at $15.00/hour
This staff works in the park in the evenings and on weekends preparing for practices and games, turning on lights, attending to restrooms, some field set up, meeting the public, answering questions and problem-solving.  This position works outside the majority of the time and requires the ability to be able to lift 50lbs.  Communicates with other staff and management on a two-way radio and takes public calls via phone.  It also requires the ability to communicate in written form.  Flexible hours.


- Castine Center Event Staff, Starting at $15.00/hour
The staff works in the Castine Center to maintain all areas of the facility in "show condition" at all times including before, during and after events. Duties include but are not limited to cleaning restrooms, removing trash from all areas of the building, cleaning and setting up tables and/or chairs, vacuuming, mopping and cleaning interior/exterior windows. Position requires the ability to lift 50lbs, communicate with other staff and management via two-way radio and communicate verbally with rental groups. This is a part-time position with the majority of scheduled hours on evenings and/or weekends.


- Concessions Staff, Starting at $10.00/hour
Concession Staff workers are responsible for selling concessions to spectators at a variety of sports and local events. Welcoming guests at the concession stand, taking orders for food or beverage, presenting prices, and options, processing cash payments, operating food preparation equipment, and maintaining the concession area so it is clean and sanitized.

SEASONAL POSITION

-HEAD NATURE CAMP COUNSELOR
This is a Seasonal position at $20/per hour. The most important out of all Camp Counselor duties is to ensure campers are safe at all times. You’ll be responsible for overseeing their activities and ensuring they don’t get lost or hurt. The job duties of a Camp Counselor also include planning summer camp games, educating children and setting up equipment.  Being reliable and able to build good relationships with children are two essential traits of a Camp Counselor. You also need to have knowledge around outdoor activities, like hiking, canoeing or caving. If you’re patient, energetic but strict when needed, we’d like to meet you.

The job requires the employee to have the ability to handle all duties and responsibilities and possess the knowledge required.

  • Must undergo a pre-employment physical & drug test
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred
  • Proven experience as Camp Counselor or similar role working with children
  • Familiarity with camping and various outdoor activities
  • Patient and reliable
  • Organizational and communication skills
  • A love for children
  • Energetic and positive personality
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (strength and stamina to follow strenuous activities like hiking, running, crouching or carrying children)
  • First aid- and CPR-certified preferred
