-Park Labor & Maintenance - Full-Time Position

 Pelican Park Facility Staff, Starting at $16.50/hour 

Recreation District #1/Pelican Park, which is a public agency, is seeking to fill openings for Labor Maintenance. This position offers 40 hrs. per week and does involve some overtime and weekend work. This position offers great benefits such as paid health /dental insurance, retirement, vacation and sick leave. The starting salary is $16.50 per hour. This is an outdoor position that does include working in all weather conditions, such as rain, snow and heat.

Job Duties Include: 

  • Maintaining and prepping sports fields and facilities 
  • Mowing and weed eating
  • Picking up trash
  • Maintain green areas
  • Performing janitorial duties
  • Assist in repairs and preventative maintenance to facilities and fields
  • Assist in irrigation, sod repairs and small construction projects, etc.
  • Must be able to pass a physical, drug screen, background check, and capable of lifting 50 lbs.

-Administrative Assistance - Full-Time Position

 Starting at $16.50/hour 

 JOB SUMMARY

Dedicated and detail-oriented administrative professional with experience in providing exceptional customer service and clerical support. Skilled in managing phone communications, greeting clients, and efficiently handling inquiries to ensure a positive experience. Committed to maintaining a welcoming office environment and supporting organizational operations through effective multitasking and problem-solving. Seeking a full-time, hourly position to contribute strong communication and organizational skills in a dynamic work environment.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Answers and screens telephone calls and routes them accordingly.
  • Greets visitors and directs them to the appropriate area or person.
  • Utilizes software to complete tasks and projects (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Publisher, registration/reservation software).
  • Registers patrons in sports programs via online database/entering coaches in database and retrieving information out of database.
  • Open and close the office, ensuring all locks and alarms are properly set.
  • Update the sports hotline daily, adhering to established procedures.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of the District's policies and procedures.

 Minimum Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Strong communication, organizational, and written skills to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work.
  • High energy, optimistic, and outgoing personality.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift 50 lbs. and be physically active for extended periods, including walking, standing, bending, twisting, kneeling, squatting, pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying, and holding heavy items

Part-Time Positions Available

 - Pelican Park Recreation Facility Staff, Starting at $16.50/hour

This staff works in the park in the evenings and on weekends preparing for practices and games, turning on lights, attending to restrooms, some field set up, meeting the public, answering questions and problem-solving.  This position works outside the majority of the time and requires the ability to be able to lift 50lbs.  Communicates with other staff and management on a two-way radio and takes public calls via phone.  It also requires the ability to communicate in written form.  Flexible hours.



- Castine Center Event Staff, Starting at $16.50/hour (21+)

The staff works in the Castine Center to maintain all areas of the facility in "show condition" at all times including before, during and after events. Duties include but are not limited to cleaning restrooms, removing trash from all areas of the building, cleaning and setting up tables and/or chairs, vacuuming, mopping and cleaning interior/exterior windows. Position requires the ability to lift 50lbs, communicate with other staff and management via two-way radio and communicate verbally with rental groups. This is a part-time position with the majority of scheduled hours on evenings and/or weekends.

  

- Park Event Staff, Starting at $16.50/hour

We are seeking enthusiastic and reliable Event Staff professional to join our team. The ideal candidates will be responsible for assisting in the planning, setup, execution, and breakdown of various events. This role is perfect for individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and are passionate about delivering exceptional customer service on and off the field. ESSENTIAL

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assist with event setup, including arranging furniture, decorations, and equipment.
• Provide excellent customer service to attendees, addressing inquiries and ensuring a positive experience.
• Ensure thorough cleaning of all bathrooms within the Center.
• Regularly remove trash from hallways, bathrooms, conference rooms, and the lobby.
