The regular season practices are optional and up to the coach. Games are scheduled 1 ½ hrs apart, the first 30 minutes is used for practices. All practices are held at Pelican Park.

Games will begin the week of April 11th. Games are played on Saturday only until after the school year ends; then a weekday game and a Saturday game will be played. There will be no scores kept in this age group.
Pelican Parks 6-year-old Boys Coach Pitch division is the perfect youth sports for getting kids started in the game of baseball and softball. It helps develop baseball/softball skills without exerting too much pressure on young players, keeping the game safe, and allowing them to have lots of fun.

Pelican Park’s 5 & 6-year-old leagues are a non-competitive league which strictly for the development of the players in a non-competitive atmosphere. There are no scores or standings kept in these age groups. All players play each inning, both offensively and defensively. The players will progress each year with the rules, for example the 5-year-old age group will not clear the bases on an out but the 6-year-old age group will clear the player off the base only if the player is thrown out. This will hopefully help the players understand the game better each year by introducing a new concept to the game of baseball. Both the girls’ and boys’ leagues will play with a safety ball.

- Boys must be 6 years old by 5/1/26. NO EXCEPTIONS
- No Evaluations are held for 5 & 6’s
- Pre- Season Practices begin for the 5 and 6-year-old leagues the week of March 16th, 2026. Regular season practices may be scheduled by the coach during the week but will have 30 minutes prior to each game time for practices.
- Season games begin the week of April 11th 2026 and end mid June.
- Games will be on Saturday only through the end of the school session and then one weekday and one Saturday game.
- 8 game season, no tournament
