VOLUNTEER TO COACH!

Would you like to volunteer to coach at Pelican Park?

Thank you so much for your consideration to coach for Pelican Park. Our youth sports programs depend on people like you and we would not be able to have these programs without volunteers like you. As you know, coaches truly make a difference in the lives of children!

We are required to do background checks for all coaches. The reason for doing this is to provide the safest environment for children to play sports as possible. We have used the National Recreation and Park Association recommendations for credentialing volunteers.

We realize that some people may be concerned about providing the information required for the background check. We can assure you that Background Investigation Bureau, is a fully qualified and insured company for background checks and all information, except the results of Pass or Fail are kept confidential according to the law. You will be notified of the results and can petition if your feel a mistake has been made.

The coaches selected by the District to coach will receive a Park lanyard and a coach's identification card/badge that certifies you as an approved Pelican Park coach. This ID should be worn at all games and practices.

The "Volunteer" link below will take you to the District's registration system.  Once your profile is completed and accepted, you can register to coach. You will then be sent instructions via email to complete the background check application. Just simply fill out the online form and you are done with your part. Completion of the applications does not guarantee a coaching slot, as sometimes we might have a surplus of volunteers. Coaching identification cards issued will be valid for two years.

Thanks so much for taking this extra step to ensure our children are as safe as possible.

Returning Coaches:  If you were an approved coach, in the past 2 years you will be able to click on the "Volunteer" button below to be directed to our registration system.
